About
A graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Computer Science and a Music minor , Jim Steinborn apprenticed with Visser-Rowland Associates in Houston, Texas - a major builder of primarily mechanical-action instruments. While at Visser-Rowland, Jim contributed to the building and installation of 30 new pipe organs. As the primary mechanical key action craftsperson during his tenure at VRA, Jim learned to make every part of the action from keyboards to pallets, including all the parts in between.

Jim joined the American Institute of Organbuilders in 1990, and is a Colleague member.

Established in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1993, Steinborn Pipe Organ Services has provided tuning, cleaning, maintenance, repair and relocation services all over the Colorado Front Range and in Southern Wyoming.
